pm3/pm4 cable

Post by Pochoir » October 16th, 2024, 11:54 pm

Hi. I cannot seem to find a Pm3/Pm4 to USB-C cable in France. I was wondering if it is proprietary or it is some less known standard? Help finding it is highly appreciated.

I only ever used a standard USB to Printer cable but I dont see why the spec would change to a USB C so I'd expect something similar to this will be widely available in France https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255797448219 ... gK98vD_BwE

The cable (as supplied by C2) is a USB-A to USB-B (with a funky right angled connector). There's no use of USB-C with PM3/PM4/PM5.

The Concept2 utility still works with the usb cable on pm3/4. Any printer cable will work.

Be aware Concept2 no longer supports pm3/4 usb cable connection to ergdata. They just say "upgrade to pm5". Older versions of ergdata that support usb cable are gone, and have quirks if you use them.

Assuming you want to make ergdata work try a stock usb-c printer cable. The OTG function needed in USB-A to USB-B cable is part of USB-C so all usb-c have it. Example i haven't tried https://www.amazon.com/GMBYLBY-Connecti ... WZTM8?th=1 . Or you can try the "usb-c to female usb-b" adapter that comes with many phones. It'll connect a stock OTG printer cable (USB-A to USB-B cable). Printer cable needs to be OTG. You can find them on amazon for less than $10 USD. Example that worked with PM5: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S6 ... =UTF8&th=1

I have used this one for a few years on work gym C2's

Along with this.....

Works most of the time but now after a few years things are getting a bit worn/loose so it can slip out of my phone.
