Find a mate from the past ...
Find a mate from the past ...
Hi all.
I have just bought a Concept 2 and am comparing times for various distances on the rankings list.
Is it possible to search in the rakings / logs for a person's name?
I have lost contact with a couple of mates who used to row and I think they may well be somewhere in the rakings.
Thanks.

Google will do that for you. Set up a search like "smith concept2 rankings". (might be a more direct approach. but this works)Colin_ wrote: ↑December 27th, 2021, 8:09 amHi all.

Thanks Tsnor.
I had tried a search with Safari and Firefox and now with Google.
I couldn't even find myself - strange, given it works for you.

No but you can refine your search by selecting the country and obviously your age group.
Still pretty hard for the USA, there are a lot of rowers.
Kind of strange that the search for a training partner is just their e-mail or ranking ID number, you would think that a search by just the name would be the most helpful.
My name came up with just using Google, but I have an open profile and very few people do.

Re: Find a mate from the past ...
Have you ranked any work? If not then google won't find you in the rankings.
Try the reverse flow, look at the rankings, pick a name and google it. Substitute the name you found for smith and drop the quotes for your google search. "smith concept2 rankings". If your friends have not ranked a piece then they won't be there. But if they have ranked any piece at any time then you can find them... the internet does not forget.
rankings are here: https://log.concept2.com/rankings
you can also google your friend's name, a few likely factors (school name, work, rowing, etc) and see if you can snag their facebook or twitter.

You might try https://www.google.com/advanced_search Advanced search is better for searching within a specific website.

Thanks for your replies Tsnor, Carl, Big Data, and harrythehamster.
There's some useful information in them.
I have ranked work, but only in the last few days.
This is the response I was hoping for, from harrythehamster - it's exactly what I wanted https://www.rankedworkouts.com/index.php?clsp
Thanks again.
