Hello,

I am thinking of buying this rower (supposedly a D model - PM3) with less than 800km for $500. Anyone can confirm that this is a good purchase? I never owned one of these.

Thanks!

It does look like a model D, but not with PM5 monitor. Looks like a PM4 or PM3.

The unequal fading of the paint the fan cover and frame to me indicates they have been used outside or are just pretty old. All in all, this does not look like a machine with less than 800km. My model D with PM5 has a bit over 5000km on it and apart from the tracks on the rail, it looks pretty much brand new.

The machines on the pictures look like they've been used and abused in the boathouse for years on end. That's not to say they don't work or are broken.

They probably do work fine, but I would consider buying them for maybe 300$? Soon enough you might want to upgrade to PM5, which would add some more cost, bringing you much closer to a brand new machine at 945$. It seems like the stock shortages are not a daily issue any more either.

There are 2 model D rowers the early model and the late model.

The one on the right with the grey monitor arm and the black seat is the early model.

The following link helps a bit.

Best to check in person. With Concept 2 now shipping & the wait list a thing of the past, there are a lot of scammers crawling out of the woodwork. Do your due diligence & you should end up with a gently used, inexpensive erg.
