Old Polar H1 chest strap
Old Polar H1 chest strap
I just got a rower with a PM5. I have an old Polar H1 chest strap heart monitor. Is this old Polar compatible with the PM5/ErgData? Thanks.
Re: Old Polar H1 chest strap
I believe the H1 uses ANT, not ANT+.
I don't know if the PM5 can receive that or not. Hopefully someone here will know.

Just hit "Connect" on the PM5 and try and connect it.
The PM5 scans for available devices so if it doesn't come up then no.
Get yourself a new ANT+ strap if it doesn't work. Garmin now look to have some good ones available,

Re: Old Polar H1 chest strap
The Polar is an analog device, I believe. I have one for use on my PM3, but I need the separate pickup device plugged into the monitor. The PM5 does not have the connection for a separate pickup device, it won't support the Polar (https://www.concept2.com/service/heart-rate-equipment).

Yes if its an early "Polar or "Polar Coded" its not going to work on a PM5. Did try to Google specific information on the H1 but its vauge.
After you move to ANT+ there is no going back, the range of only 6 feet at best and loads on interference problems with the older tech it was pretty hopeless.
