Tank Top - which one

Post by Meek » February 10th, 2021, 10:05 am

I am looking for some new, lightweight, wicking tank tops that aren’t expensive. Anyone know where I can find some? Thank you.

eBay & zappos.com are good bets. I've been partial to Adidas, but no-name brands should be cheaper.

Are you based in England? TK Maxx is worth a visit, when it's open, if you are. Ebay and Amazon are also good options in lockdown.

https://www.amazon.com/Russell-Athletic ... ast_sto_dp

I got some Russell Athletic tops similar, but not identical, to these a while back (from a Walmart store) and they're working out quite well for me.

The only potential issue for the ones I got (which may not be exactly like the ones at the link above) is the size, but because I got them in-person at the store I was able to try them on. Normally I wear Size L, but the ones I got were labeled "Athletic Fit" or something like that, and the Large was huge, so I got Medium. In general I've found that the Amazon "Fit" guidelines are trustworthy and others will let you know if stuff runs large or small.

I just checked and they're labeled "Training Fit."

So, based on my experience if you get a Russell Athletic top with that on the tag either try it on before buying or go down one size.

If you like basketball, there are some really good (and bad) quality vests on Amazon for about £20. As long as the photos look good, they have turned out to be good in my experience. If there's a symbol on the lower part of the front (sometimes blurred out) they have always been official vests, and I assume they're seconds, but nothing so bad you'd notice.

Get a size smaller though as they're generally over sized and be careful, as I have seen a Chicago Bulls 'Ordan' vest!!

I have got seven really good quality ones, and one dodgy
one, but that doesn't guarantee that they will be if you get them. They take about 5 or 6 weeks to deliver that's the only issue.

Love picturing rowing in a ‘tank top’. To me it’s what my mum knitted for us in the 70’s with the left over wool. A jumper with no sleeves - I think our friends over the water call that a ‘sweater vest’.
