1. Get Ergdata on your phone.
2. Create an account at https://log.concept2.com/
3. Connect Ergdata to your PM5.
4. Row.
5. Connect Ergdata to your logbook account.
6. Sync workouts with the logbook.
7. Keep calm and carry on.
8. Eat, sleep, erg, repeat.

Sounds like your gym has PM3 monitors. Then you can go three ways:

1. Connect through a cable to a phone and use ErgData. Can really be a hassle to get working. You need a special cable, and it will not work with all phones.

2. Buy a LogCard, which you bring with you to the gym and insert in the PM3 while rowing. Then transfer the data from the LogCard using the Concept2 Utility software on a PC. You will need to either buy a card reader for this (or an old PM3) if you want to do it at home, or you will have to bring your PC to the gym and connect it to the PM3 there with a USB printer cable.

3. Enter your results manually in Concept2's online logbook. They will be listed as "Unverified" unless you get a verification code from the PM3 in the gym after rowing the session and also enter this code in the online logbook.

An addition to Citroen's list above:
If you want your session to be ranked (as you asked for), you can't just start rowing. You need to set up a session with the exact distance or duration before you start rowing.
