PM2 repair

Dear all,

I have recently bought an old model C with a broken PM2.
I am looking to repair the PM2, but don't have any experience with this.
Below you can find some pictures of the inside of the PM2.
The battery contact seems "flaky" and some connections on the board seem damaged.
Could you explain me if it is repairable and if this is the case, how to go about it?
I would like to mention that I don't have much technical experience, so please bear with me.

Thats a rev 2.3 version of the PM2 so its the last and best hardware version made with the gold plated button and LCD contacts.

If I had to guess, there is a break in the conductor in the picture by the negative terminal at the top of the board. You need a multimeter and check the continuity of the battery terminals or else with the back off and batteries fitted check you have the 3V across the large yellow tantallum capacitor below the battery terminals.

The tracks need to be cleaned back to bare copper and you solder a very fine copper wire bridge across.

The best place to measure power to the circuity is the large negative via beside the "C1" below the battery terminals and the positive on via below the "+3D" printed on the board beside the battery terminals. A 3V dc Voltage indicates the MAX859 is working properly.

You need some electronics skills to repair the board or else just purchase a new PM5. If you don't want to bin the PM2, I can always repair and use it as they are still a popular monitor over here. You can PM me for an address to airmail it to for a few bucks.
