Don't forget to take a day off between all 10k's.Brendo wrote:... Boat III is rocking today as I just did my 3rd 10K of the month with a 3rd PB : 41:45.3
Godfried - faster by about 10 seconds today and the pace was much more even. Heart rate peaked much lower too which is good ...
I tried yesterday, but aborted after 2k.
Hi Godfried, I'm struggling to catch you but can't get near my own best at the moment! Have rowed hard every day this week and feel shattered. Will try again in a few days.Godfried wrote:

Brendo - only a matter of time before you take over in boat 2 at the rate you are improving. Whats your secret re recovery?
Cheers, Paul

It may stretch , but there is a limit. See DRP day (top-right picture).
Lost over a stone since then.
Looking at your photo I think you need a Xlarge AIO

I row about 10K a day anyway, this just makes me do it in one go rather than breaking it up into smaller pieces
Much as I 'd like to have a great programme that helps me recover, I think the answer is much simpler.
I started rowing in December relatively slowly after not exercising for a number off years.
Since then I am definitely fitter and I've lost about 5.5Kg both of which are helping my times.
With concerm for my lack of fitness I set out to only beat previous PB's by small amounts. For me, at this stage of my training, all PB's are great. Beating a PB 6 times by 10 seconds gives me much more motivation than beating it once by 1 minute if that makes sense.
It's a long month, I reckon I can do about 20 10K's and I'm hoping to get my pace better than my 6K time and possibly even my 5K time.
Then of course the motivator starts all over again because next month I will start getting 5k and 6K PB's
That's a long winded explanation for why a fat and unfit bloke can improve times

You guys all look like you are having a great time! Here's another one to add to your collection Krysta.
Today is just a comfy paced HM. I'm trying to work my way up to a marathon before the end of the season and I'm behind on getting the long rows in. I'll do another 10K tomorrow or probably Saturday.
