Had to do it, couldn't put it off any longer

Post by Tiptx4 » March 21st, 2016, 7:59 pm

Well I went ahead and pulled the trigger. It really was not that hard of a decision to make. The most important thing for me was when reading all the reviews as to how everyone love's their C2 and how there are so many benefits from rowing that I never knew existed. 1st of all as soon as the company opened I made the call as the salesperson was very polite. Right after I gave them my name they had it listed on their data base and asked me how I liked my rower that I purchased over 12 years ago. I told them I have been away from rowing for that long and wished I would have never sold it but due to certain circumstances I had to let it go.
I wasn't going to let another day go by without making a purchase as I'm totally convinced that I made the right choice for I also went with the Model E for I like that is sits up higher. This will be a very welcomed addition to my collection of equipment. I do see it taking over as my main source of exercising. Now the Nordic Track Pro skier some 25 plus years old still going strong but the new skiers that they now came out with I would touch. My Total Gym...well let's say they are way too pricey and I could do without it. It does gets used but not nearly as much as I thought it would. My wife loves her treadmill as she can have it as that may change after she starts rowing. Now with me being 60 years old I really like the idea that I care that much about my health and made this purchase. I wasn't about to take any short cuts when it comes to my health and buy something I wouldn't like or regretted later on. I never read so many positive reviews and the health benefits are amazing from what I've read as I'm surprised I over looked this as maybe I just got all caught up with the hype with all the new stuff that came out over the last 12 plus years which now I realized was just another flavor of the month. I know positive results will all depend in what you put into it in order to get those positive results back. I'm not some fitness nut but I'm very conscience about feeling good and having plenty of energy for my 4 and soon to have 5 grandchildren for many years to come.
I just want to say later this week it will be here and I can't remember doing this much research on any certain piece of exercise equipment like I did on the Concept2. They have stood the test of time and when it comes to quality and positive reviews this one ranks as one if not the best rowers out there. I'm pretty excited to be a new member on here and reading about all of the successful stories that people have about their C2.

Welcome to the "club", Tip. I've owned my Model D since 11/2011, but have put more meters on it since 11/2015 than all previous years combined. It really is a great piece of equipment.

By the way, you might want to edit your "Signature" that shows up at the bottom of your posts now that your username has been changed as requested there. Otherwise, your email address will be on display for everyone (and everything, such as troll-bots) to see. You do this in the "User Control Panel" up in the top left part of your screen.

Also - and I sincerely don't say this to be mean - please separate your posts into a few paragraphs rather than one long wall of text. It is so much easier on the eyes to read if you do so. It looks like you meant to, but a line of space between paragraphs really makes a huge difference.

Thanks for the helpful advice about editing my signature. From now now I will make sure I space out my wording as I'm such a newbie. Just got word that my C2 model E will be here Wednesday,

Wow! only took 3 days for my C2E to arrive as I was so excited. Wasn't sure if I was going to have time to put it together or even get a workout on it as I'm waiting for the phone to ring calling me to work. I hate being on call buy Hey it pays the bills. Anyhow maybe a good 45 minutes un boxing it and putting it together was all it took. Instructions were OK.

I still need to learn more about the PM5 monitor buy what the heck. I used the just row setting and after 12 minutes I was ready to quit but I went for 30 minutes. Took a 3 1/2 hour break and when the wife came home she got on her treadmill for almost an hour and I went another 30 minutes. I burned 709 calories for the total workout. I don't quit because I'm tired I quit because I'm finished.

OMG after I finished I thought I was going to throw up, it kicked my butt as I always would do at least 30 on the treadmill or Nordic track skier. Now the Skier would show that I burnt more calories than the C2 but the skier is over 25 years old so who knows how accurate it is. The C2 has me pumped up as that was the hardest 30 minute workout I can ever remember having. Now I ready to see those lbs. starting to shed away.

For me being 60 years old a good 30 minute workout is satisfying but I do want to go longer after I get myself more used to it. Not sure when I will be ready go go a full hour non stop so (2) 30 minutes workouts for the day is enough for me right now. I notice some of the numbers on the PM5 but I'm not at all familiar with what everything means just yet. That's all as I just had to share my excitement.

The big advantage of the C2 erg is in the numbers. It's worth knowing what they mean so that we can calibrate and record our work in real terms.

Watts tell us how much power we are generating; Watts x Hours how much work we've done; Watts/Rating how we did it.
08-1940, 183cm, 83kg.
2024: stroke 5.5W-min@20-21. ½k 190W, 1k 145W, 2k 120W. Using Wods 4-5days/week. Fading fast.
