Bad technique?

Post by bcjm » January 16th, 2016, 4:54 am

I have developed a habit that my head looks up instead of looks horizontally at the end of the pull. So my head and my spine are still in one line when my body bending backward. Is this bad? Does it matter?

Maybe. Could you show us a video? And maybe move this whole thing to the Training Board, where more people are likely to see it.

Things I'm wondering: how extreme is your layback? If you had a mirror in front of you, could you still see yourself in the mirror? How do you recover/set your torso angle for your recovery?

These, plus more prompted me to suggest a video.

The further your head travels per stroke and the higher the rating, the more likely you'll get a pain in the neck. And do more work to get it. Inertia (i.e. Newton) strikes again.
