Heart rate monitors

Post by chrisa770 » January 16th, 2016, 1:53 pm

I just obtained a Fitbit Charge HR to monitor my heart rate while rowing. Needless to say it doesn't fit the bill for me as it doesn't display constantly and is inaccurate. I have had the Polar and Omron with chest transducer but they didn't seem to last and I did not think they were that accurate, although better than Fitbit IMHO. Any better ideas out there? Thanks. the garmin vivosmart hr is more accurate (in my opinon - at least for the long rows i do, sprints may be a different thing)
both display differences to both my polar h7 and garmin ant chest belts, where the polar uses less battery power.

generally speaking i have both running as wearing a belt doesnt bother me,
i coulkd broadcast from the vivosmart HR to the pm5 / rowpro / smartphone, but i rely on the ant or h7 belt - especially for interval/ sprint work....
