Several setup and connection problems...

Post by Mare » January 10th, 2014, 5:21 pm

I’m pretty new to the concept 2 and have just acquired two machines. I also have Rowpro 3 and one lead to connect my laptop to the PM4. I also have one lead to connect the two PM4’s to each other.

Problem 1: I’ve connected the PM4’s direct to each using the lead and the LED is flashing green saying they are connect OK. I set up a race on one machine and join the race with the other machine and everything is fine. Once the race starts though, only one machine is getting a boat display and distance between racers on the lower half of the screen. The other machine just gets normal stats in the upper half and nothing in the lower half so one rower has no idea where the 2nd rower is. No matter which machine sets up the race or enters it still happens to the same PM4.

Problem 2: To link two PM4’s to Rowpro do I just need a second USB lead A to B? Then the two PM4’s will connect direct to my Laptop’s 2nd USB port via separate leads, or isn’t it as simple as that?

Problem 3: I don’t have a log card for my PM4’s. I’ve rowed an interval training sessions just using the PM4. Is there any way to transfer that data to Rowpro? I see you can enter a session on Rowpro manually but there isn’t the option to manually enter an interval training session.

Any help with any of these 3 problems would be great! :)

I'd go with option 2. Two USB-A to USB-B leads on one laptop.

After looking into my Rowpro licence, it is limited at 5 users and 1 erg so I don't think connecting through Rowpro is an option now.

I'm now desperate to find out why I have no race details on one of my ergs other than that ergs individual data. It is missing the lower half of the screens lanes, boats and distances etc.

I have two Ergs and a single licence of RowPro V4.1

You cannot connect both of the PM4's to the one laptop at the same time if the PM4's are running the rechatgable battery as you need to turn only one of the PM4's on before you open RowPro.

If you want to use both ergs at the same time you are going to need a second PC or Laptop and another licence of RowPro.

Check in the product ID screen of the PM4 and make sure both monitors are running the latest firmware version.
