Help! PM on SkiErg not showing any activity data

The skierg I regularly use at my club worked fine yesterday but today when I set a 2000M distance on it and started my pulls, the Performance Monitor just sat there at 2000 metres and didn't show any results at all; no Stroke rate, pace/500, distance countdown, Nothing. Battery is fully charged and I took it out and replaced it but still nothing. I've never had/seen this before on C2 rowing or ski ergs. It's like the flywheel isn't connecting with the performance monitor. I've reported it to the staff but no one there uses the equipment much and it may be awhile before they address it directly and I'd hate to be without it.

Any suggestion how to fix this issue easily or does it need a repairman? Thanks.

Check the wire from the flywheel sensor all the way to the bottom of the monitor.
Check the plug is in the socket and pressed fully home.
