Injury

Post by Robert bowes » November 22nd, 2013, 1:35 pm

I have just received an injury on the concept 2, I pulled something along my ribs and caused extreme pain. I hurt when I breath deep and cannot sleep on my sides also have a constant dull ache. I put the rowing on hold for a couple weeks and am now tar tingle back slow only doing 2000M intervals at a low 3 resistance. I was cruising along quite well until this happened and am now gun shy. Is this injury quite common? Thanks....Robert

Other potential cause is a pull of the intracostal muscles.

Both stress fractures and IC pulls are very common among rowers when volume or intensity is ramped up sharply.

I had stress fractures and they took about 6 weeks to heal. I started gentle rowing after about 4 weeks, and avoided low rate rowing for a couple of months.
