Hi everyone.
I have an iMac running Mountain Lion 10.8.3. I've downloaded the drivers from the Concept2 website and worked with the Omnikey tech control people, but I can't get my Mac to read the log card when I insert it into the 3121 Card Reader.
Anyone have any tips that would make this work?
I know the hardware and card are functional, because they work fine on my old Dell Windows laptop. But I want this to work on my Mac as well.
I'd appreciate any tips you could offer.
Thanks.

Re: Omnikey 3121 not working with Mac OS
I was using Omnikey with my Mac some time ago and then had to switch to Athena. I no longer remember the details, but am guessing that it was when I upgraded the system, maybe 10.5 to 10.6 (which I am currently running, 10.6.8). There was information on the C2 site at the time that Omnikey would not work with whatever I had, whereas, when I first started using a logcard, it was Omnikey that worked with Mac and not any of the others. I have never tried out 10.7 or 10.8.

Does Omnikey claim compatibility with 10.8.3 specifically? I know they say that it works with OSX and they have drivers for it but maybe it needs to be updated for the latest OS.

Re: Omnikey 3121 not working with Mac OS
Hey guys, thanks for the replies.
Concept2 says it works with 10.8, and even links to the drivers. But not as far as revision 10.8.3, but I've got a tech call out.
Looks like Omnikey and Mac aren't good friends. That info would have been nice to know before I made my purchase. Live and learn.

I don't like when I see that drivers are required because of just the forward compatibility issue you ran into. I'd go with the Athena which is what C2 plugs (http://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/a ... ard-reader) and doesn't require drivers. I know that doesn't help you in your situation but your lesson may well benefit others who run across this thread before buying a card reader. At least you can still read off of your laptop.

Hopefully, you have found a solution by now; but just in case...
I was having the same problem with Mac OS X 10.8.5, but I found a new download for the OMNIKEY 3121 that solved the problem. Here you go: http://www.hidglobal.com/drivers/19361
Cheers, Mark
