Just bought an E erg from a woman who allegedly used it for back rehab therapy. It looks like it just came out of the box(es). Included was a Suunto heart monitor strap, a C2 log card, the D & E PM brochure, the D & E Rower brochure, assembly instructions, and a device she said was a battery re-charger. My questions, please: 1. how can I determine the age of the machine? 2. is there any way to determine how much usage the machine got? 3. Anything I should check out "after the fact" re: condition? (Tried it - very smooth & quiet, v. the C's I've rowed), tried different resistance settings, went through the various PM4 screen settings, everything seemed okay. Greatly appreciate any other recommendations of things I should look at before I start erging. Thank you in advance!
John

You''ve done everything needed already, except technique, maybe chainoil and then elbow grease.

To determine the age of the machine look at the serial number, it is date coded. There's details here: http://www.concept2.com/service/indoor- ... uct-notice
There's also a date code on the PM3/PM4 monitor (on the Product ID page). The Product ID page will also give lifetime metres (*NOTE* it can be reset).

James, thank you!
Citreon - thank you - especially for the link. Had the pleasure of playing rugby v. a Basingstoke-Newbury side that did a Mid-Atlantic tour of the states in the late 70's - quite the group!
