The results of these tests might indicate the kind of person drawn to rowing, as opposed to traits for success.
The dimensions from one study of adult regatta participants, mixed with some of my own observations:
- Rowers are likely to be J (conscientious/ordered) over P
- Males and females are disproportionately T (logical/object) over F (feeling/people); in women this is unusual.
- Male rowers have moderately high levels fo N over S, but female rowers are much more likely to test high on N (intuitive/open to experience) over S
This last result is somewhat confounded by high levels of education among rowers, since N increases with education.
