Pads for Concept2
I started rowing on a Concept 2 rower in my local YMCA last December. About 1,000,000 meters later, I just finished my first marathon and my butt bones are killing me. I am looking for the best pad for the Model D rower. I cannot believe how much pain I am feeling. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am thinking maybe the Sorbothane one or the one on Amazon. They Concept2 $3.50 looks like a joke to me. Thanks in advance for your responses.
Re: Pads for Concept2
I have found the C2 pad to be sufficient for an hour or more. For HMs and FMs, I add a pair of small folded towels with a space between them for cooling air circulation (a recommendation from Xeno). It was O.K. for HMs. During FMs, I still get quite sore in the butt for the last 10 or 15 km, but it has been bearable and the recoveries have not taken too long. I also work up to the FM by doing longer and longer pieces, which helped to get me used to the various problem with long term rows. This resulted in developing some degree of tolerance for the butt pain, ctpensacola wrote:I started rowing on a Concept 2 rower in my local YMCA last December.
