iTunes: Sport iMixes

Post by igoeja » June 8th, 2008, 11:12 am

I assumed there was a way of publishing playlists on iTunes, and since my iPod is mostly used for workouts, I published a few playlists, one for intervals and one for long workouts. I also searched on other mixes and found about 7 others.

If someone is interested they can search iTunes for iMix, and once on the page, search for rowing. Also, it might be enjoyable for others here to publish their playlists.

Two of mine, mostly rock and metal (enjoy very physical material when working out):

I got your mix for slow long rows & used it today for a 55 minute row (as per the C2UK site weight loss plan I've been following). I'm older than you so only about half of the songs were ones I knew well and they made the row go quicker. The other half were mostly okay, but I guess they will grow on me. I have a more upbeat one for shorter rows and really needed something to push me on the longer rows. Thanks for the playlist, it made my life easier and that is always a good thing!

Sincerely, glad it helped...

What kind of music do you enjoy when working out? What gets you going?

I-Mix

Post by nic05 » July 11th, 2008, 8:39 am

I have only been rowing since mid May so my experience is limited. Tried rowing to Pixies, B-52s, REM, Talking Heads, Clash, Nirvana, some old Al Green is good. I'm gradually weeding out the ones that don't work. Good music doesn't always = good rowing cadence. Almost everything from Dwight Yoakum works well. I'm not a huge country fan, but I may take a look at some. There is a top 100 list of workout songs on the Fitness Magazine website that I will probably work into a playlist as my music starts to get old.

The i-mix is a great idea and I will take a look at putting one together.

I can't quite get over the way I have become addicted to the rower. This is a first for me. I used your mix for my very first 70 min row yesterday. That was quite an accomplishment for me and I am quite proud of it. I've only lost about five lbs so far, but I can tell a big difference in the fit of my clothes. Great feeling!

In some strange way your Imix doesn't work for me, T think it's cause of Dutch connection with Itunes. I buy my music via the Ditch Itunesstore!

Btw: I'm more a audiobook/radionews type whilst rowing, B-52's are great, or some Metallica! Cash,Elvis, Arctic M, ETC

Look at Seeqpod on your Ipod!!

It's great!!
