3) break 20 minutes on 5K (by the end of the season)
4) loose 8 kg in the proces (I'm afraid my fat percentage is close to 25%)
2) Achieved -> 7148 meters
3) In progress.
4) 4 kg down.

1) Who says that we are not interested in technique? Technique is very important to achieve my goals. So are power and endurance. I just measure total progress with pace per distance.jamesg wrote:You're all mad: the goal should be to row with perfect technique. If you do that, you'll cruise past all the others without even noticing.
2) Why do you put your last 2K score in your signature if you think that pace should not be an issue
3) When did rowing become a jury-sport where you get points for style?
Don't judge. Just wonder.

My goals for 2007 / 2008:
1) 2k in under 6:10 (current best 6:11.8, but set in Jan 2004)
2) Win a medal in the 30+ hwt at BIRC, EIRC or Crash B's (I turn 30 a week before BIRC)
3) Break the 19-29 hwt british record for the marathon (currently 2h36 / 1:51.3)
Time scale for these - 1 is the top priority, and aim to do that around BIRC time. 2 would be nice, but is just down to who is there on the day, the time is more important. 3 is just something I want to attempt before I turn 30, just because I can. So I'll probably attempt 3 in the next 6 weeks or so, and only plan on doing 2 or 3 HMs in preparation (don't normally row over 12k).
Edit: I'm 29 years old, 5'11 (181cm), 195lbs (88KG)

Retrieved my one-year old targets for my first season which is about to end...
The weight loss is eaxctly 8 kg and all targets are well achieved. Time to think about next seasons targets.Gerhard wrote:1) break 8 minutes on 2K (within a month or so)

I exceeded the 4136km, with 4,575,546 meters for the year (12,501 daily average).John Rupp wrote:With my 35,864 total so far, another 4,136 will put me over 40 million meters. It would be nice to reach this in 2008.
I'm not sure how this worked out unless some of my meters didn't transfer to the totals.
This brings my all time total to more than 40,000,486 meters

Thanks David and Dougie.
I got a modelB in 1993, but didn't row it much until 2001.
My season total isn't adding up completely to the total.
The 35,864km from last April, plus 4,575,546m this year should have given me at least 40,439 kilometers.
Any ideas of what happened and how to correct it?

What a riot! I just checked and I did 4,575,454 meters for the year (2008) so you beat me by 92 meters.

I noticed that too. We tied on the average.
What a coincidence.

My meters board disappeared though, when the new one appeared.
