Ok John , listen there was a fault with the machine but like i said i was new to this and you can't blame me for giving you's the figures off the screen, so cut me a bit of slack man. Now i know what the setting should be ill have a chat with the gym guys and try get it sorted.
You have to admit that i never lied once i gave honest readings ,its just my lack of knowledge of the machines that lead me to believe that it was true.
So , how about a little bit of fun , we are both the same age and i'm willing to challenge you to a ompetition ........if your interested just for fun and to keep the forum interesting ........i'm very determined and love challenges so how about we pick a distance, i'll let you decide , i'l get the rower set up properly to model d and we have a month to train each and by this time next month we have to post pictures of our best times.
I'll record my progress weekly and you do same ,if you win i'll gladly congratulate you , either way it breaks the monotony of training and we'll both get a bit of crack out of it hopefully .
You up for it????

I suspect when the monitor gets sets correctly you are going to be shocked at how slow you actually are.

John, although your 500m time is fast, I think you are letting him off too easy. Even beginning rowers can finish the 500m. Take him out at 5000m or longer (I would be surprised if he can hold 1:49 for a 1000m and may struggle to break 20 min at 5k).

Boy, now that the Drysdale vs Waddell battle has been decided the rowing world will now focus their attention on this clash of the Titans!

Fair point Michael.
OK eoinom.
I choose a Half Marathon. 21009 Metres.
coggs - Why don't you take part? That will really set the indoor rowing world pulses racing.

Oh heck, I think that 10km would be most appropriate since that's what got the whole thing started.

your call man , just a bit of crack so whatever you choose i would prefer the a shorter distance how about 2 5 or 10k just because of time constraints in the gym , but if you insist on the half i'll agree.

you are right yankeerunner. it should be a 10k
i would still bet on Foy with the other guy getting a 5 minute head start.
or maybe Foy should erg with one hand... he'd still beat this guy.

OK - 10K it is.
Set the date then?
How will I know that you will correct your monitor before you row the piece?

trust me john i havent lied to you yet, i'm a man of my word i admitted the machine was wrong i never lied about the 28mins it was just that i would have no way of knowing about these settings on pm3 having never used these before i'll be honest and put my honest times up every week and then a picture of my best times.
I'd be only cheating myself i just wanna see how close i could get to a regular rower, if i loose i loose but ill give it all i have i'm fully expecting a defeat but i'll try.
Can you give me an idea of what pace i need to get near?
