The HC and JVC really carried me through the last couple months, so I feel a little naked without a challenge this month.

I'll sign on to just about any challenge that doesn't involve a marathon or HM (I'm a wimp about the long rows). If nobody coughs one up I may shoot for 280K, so I'll have to average 10K/day.

wimps are in!!

So no FM or HM, 100K sounds nice,

I throw in a shirt, what will you??

Another Idea: we can do 1k the first day 2k the second and so on,

Last man/woman standing will be the Winner!!

Just a thought!!

Tyn,

That sounds like a great challenge and I would love to do it, unfortunately I have limited time on the erg so would not be able to get past 10K!!

Tyn,

That leaves a big fat question open. Is it a 1k a day increase or is it a doubling? A doubling has very interesting consequences in the very first week.

Well, that makes it a short challenge (special for Nigel Ferrys), so we can go for the next one.

I do not erg every day, can you cumulate meters (let's say 8k the first day, and then 3 days off)?

I'll throw in a CEU rem T-shirt for the next challenge!

The main prob with a monthly challenge is that all peeps can't get to an erg every day. So a challenge that does not require an every day workout is prefferable. I suggest a pb or sb competition. Team points for any pb's or sb's during Feb. 1 point for a sb and 2 pointws for a pb.

What distance?
I did a PB for the 7200m (Grand National, Sub7 intra challenge) yesterday, first time ever I rowed that distance! B)

Think we should stick to the C2 standard disttances, although I already know my reult will be 0 points... (or maybe not?)

Ouch! If i got the math right, 1+2+3+...27+28 (x 1000) equals 406,000. Twice the HC in the shortest month. Um, I'll be over here, watching in awe.

The HC gears you up to log meters, and the VTC encourages massive meters to support your team. I feel like i've built a nice base, now it's time to do some speed (relatively speaking). I know that as soon as i feel like hurling, i can bust my 500m pb, and probably my 1k.
I like the idea of a pb challenge.

The challenge is to post as many new SB/PB scores as you can in February.

Great idea Tyn. The hallowe'en challenge got me back on the erg, I've been steady since.

I like the PB/SB challenge suggested by TurboCog. I'm in.

Cheers,

What about this one

1) You do a 2k record the time
2) You do a 500 record the time
3)Add the two together
4)What ever the time is you row that long
5)How ever far you went in the 10min you know have to row that many minutes.
6)now where you did 2500m now do 250 meters.

This is very Complicated But will do Wonders (lol)

8:00+ 2:00=10min
10mins=2500m
2500m=25min
After 25min
do 250m
The 250 came from waht you got in the 10mins divided by 10

Another one Would be to do a 2k then a 1.5k then a 1k then 500m
After the first set you break for 60 secs then the next for 40 sec then the next for 20 sec, then for the next one you get a 10 sec break. Meters can be added as needed

2k-60secBreak-1.5k-40SecBreak-1k-20SecBreak-500m-5minBreak-REPEAT
Age-17 Years Rowing-4 Height- 6'2'' Weight- 191 pounds Low Pull-1:15 500m- 1:39 1000m-3:24 2000m- 6:59.4 5000m- 20:28.1 6000m- 26:16.3 10000m-39:24.3 4 min- 1051m 30 min- 7003m 60 min- 12628m
