If you were going to attend a race that was held over a distance that was NOT 2,000 meters, what distance would you most prefer?

How about a full marathon? We had the lads at Bedford rowing their marathon as a race.

There's also 805m (half mile) - that one's fun.

I tried the mile on an online race during the Evesham weekend, and loved the distance!
So 1 mile

What about a weight adjusted 2K (or other distance) using the C2 weight equivalency calculator? See:

Maybe we can set up a series of these on RowPro?

I hate/love 6k nearly as much as 2k.
Probably the distance where I squeezed out my best ever erging performance... until BIRC, I hope!

I like the 10k. It is long enough to allow your mind to really work on you. That might make competition interesting. A lot can happen in 35-37 minutes.

The mile is fun because it's different. I think a half mile would just get the power jockeys out, technique be damned.

But I think the 5K adds the uniqueness of combining speed and endurance in a distance that's reasonably sane for erging. Likewise a 6K . A 10K starts to stretch into rowing fatigue and butt soreness.

Longer erg races are something I haven't graviated too. Mainly due to training time availability because I used to love those long runs and 50K Walks when I was younger.
