I'm new to the forum. I plan on erg racing soon. I am 69 today but will 70 on October 2nd, 2025. Am I still considered 69 for racing or 70, because my age will be 70 this year?
Kind Regards, Peter

You're considered the age you are on race day, which can be good or bad.
Best of luck and I have a huge amount of respect for people who are still competing at your age and above.

Rules are different for USRowing sanctioned events. For USRowing your age on December 31st is your age for the full year. For example, for things like the USRowing Indoor championships this coming Saturday you would be considered to be age 70.
My birthday is October 15th, and I'm currently 77. At Pittsburgh this coming Saturday I will be listed as being age 78. If I do the WorldRowing virtual championships three weeks later I'd still be considered to be 77.

Age on race day is simpler and easier. Leave it to a governing body to complicate things.
