In Person international event lists..

Post by Frankie » December 31st, 2024, 7:50 am

Anyone have a link or info on international events for rowerg or skierg?

So far i know the world titles is in Switzerland Feb 20th for indoor rowing.

Is there any Opens for Australia, NZ, South Africa, Russia, Iceland?

I am open to any country but those would be my top 5 to go to for row or ski.

Thanks all and Happy 2025 :D

There is no Indoor Rowing Competition in Switzerland on February the 20th.

The 2025 World Rowing Indoor Championships are online only.
67 year old, 72 kilo (159lbs), 5'8''/174cm (always the shortest on the podium!) male. Based just south of London.
Best rows as an over 60. One Hour.....16011 metres. 30 mins.....8215 metres. 100k 7hrs 14 mins.

https://www.rowingindoors.ch/ - keep an eye on this. Looks like this is definitely a live ergo event on 1 March 2025 in Zug, Switzerland although the entry form isnt there at present.

https://www.britishrowing.org/indoor-ro ... -calendar/ - a few here although the Irish one needs to be entered by 8 Jan. Can recommend the Hamburg live - although you would have to be up for a half or full marathon

https://championnats.aviron-indoor.fr/sinscrire/ - entries needed by 13 Jan. I think the race day is 1 Feb for the 2k and 31 Jan 500m

It is getting a lot harder to find live events. Also you will need to check what is open to foreigners as I have noticed that for some of the German ones being advertised online I would need to belong to one of their rowing clubs. The French one above has been open to all in the past - havent got time to dig into that deeply to find out.

I am trying to jump on as many live events of 2k and more as I can but due to my circumstances that wont be many, (hoping to make the Hamburg half as a late birthday present to myself  ).

It is a bit of a shame there isn't anywhere near the level of events for running/cycling. And those that do run always strike me as more serious than just rocking up at a random 10k or half marathon running event.

The online ones are fun though. Did Row'd Royalty for the first time in 2024 and enjoyed that.

On-line events where you don't need to race together are great for me. I am unlikely to be able to do the ones where you need Ergdata and all link together.

ErgData doesn't have racing facilities yet. You need ErgRace (Online), EXR or an equivalent. Anything else is just time trials.

ErgZone facilitated the Erg Sprint Series last year, and have an endurance based one running in March.
