WRIC - Great Experience
WRIC - Great Experience
Well, it's all done. Back in hotel recovering before heading out for a juicy steak.
First I wanted to say thanks to all the the folks on this forum for all the advice and encouragement, great group of people.
The whole thing was a great experience and the venue was pretty cool. Got to meet lots of people but, didnt get to,connect with Rod and others like I was hoping. Saw some amazing performances and amazing athletes.
As for me, will give more details another day but was super happy to PB with a 6:29.9 (though results page shows 6:30.0) and take 2nd in the Nationals and 6th in World. I was a nervous mess and then we were delayed and then a false start. Went out a little too hard as usual but calmed down and then negative split the last 3 splits. Overall went pretty well and I am happy.
Thanks again and now it's back to training.

It really was. I have done some other more local comps but this was a whole different experience. The scale, the venue, the athletes all taken to a much higher level

Nice one Keith - enjoyed watching your race - you looked well in control whenever on camera - and very impressive to PB on such an occasion.

Re: WRIC - Great Experience
Thanks! I was really nervous and pulled a little too hard right at the start but then I settled down and actually zoned everything out and paced pretty well the rest of the way.
