Hi all,
I've been out of the C2 forum for many years... but decided it was time to come back! Been busy having a break and then for the last five years have been sculling.
I've entered the World Champs in Washington and am wondering who is going and what hotels you might be staying at?
I am about to book flights, it's getting serious!
Thanks in advance,
Alastair

The missus and I are staying at the Crown Plaza as apparently it's the ''nominated'' hotel by the organisers and will have a room set up with plenty of ergs so that we can all train and prepare for our races.
See you there.
What race are you in?
I'm in the 60-64 Lightweights and the wife (Carol Woodward...she doesn't use my surname) is in the 55-59 Lightweights.

I've been pondering the same question. Hoping to find some 'frugal' (not cheap, frugal) way to travel and get lodging.
If anyone in that area has a spare bedroom and a willingness to swap hosting me in return for me hosting them for a Boston area event (I live about 45 minutes north of Boston and have hosted Brits for CRASH-Bs in the past) I'd be game. Other than that I may have to trade some of my retirement nest egg for a room at the Crowne Plaza.
I hope to strike fear into the hearts of the other 70-74 lwts, if they don't strike fear into my heart first.

Hi,
I'm registerd for WIRC 2k HM 31-39 ? I'm looking for someone to travel with and to share a room in a hotel or by taking a arbnb. I leave In Quebec, want to do a short round-trip by starting saturday around 6 a.m. edt and come back sunday after the event, sleep somewhere in Canada and finish the road soon monday morning. Someone intersted to join me? I can take you on the road around Montreal or even in Ontario (it add 40 mins on the trip for me).
Tks
Thierry

Crowne Plaza. I can share a room, although what I have booked now is one king size bed. I'm not real finicky, or maybe I can get a double bed room. PM me.
Hotel shuttle bus from/to Reagan National airport, no car. I'll share the cost of a cab to the venue, or buy the coffee if I can hitch a ride with someone.
65-69 lightweight. No striking fear here, I'm the strikee.

Oh! I would have been glad to share room/ride/cab etc., but I've been lucky enough to score a room with Forum Flyers teammate Paul Flack at his house in Annapolis. Maybe next year at wherever the WIRC happens to be.
Also, I'm a strikee as well, with the 2-time defending champion in my division entered and rowing about 25 seconds faster than me. Still training like a madman and holding out hope for one of the other podium spots though.
