The FM Open - Win a Concept2 Rowing Machine

Post by Recess » November 30th, 2017, 5:37 am

Hi everyone,

I do hope you don't mind me posting this in here. It's a completely free, open to everybody, no strings competition run by Fitness Matters to win a free rowing machine, but by its very nature, the competition is designed to be a bit of advertising. If this breaks any rules to repost this here, please get in touch.

There is a Facebook element to this I'm afraid. Sorry. But as it is only advertised through Facebook right now, I thought I'd cross the streams and post it here so those who don't FB don't miss out on a chance to win a machine.

Image

Over a 10 week period 1 x 'FM Workout of the Week' per week will be posted on the Concept 2 Indoor Rowing Hub https://www.facebook.com/groups/FMRowing (that's the Facebook bit). These will be posted on a Saturday morning and saved in the pinned post of the page for ease of reference.

To qualify and verify your entries for the draw to win the FREE rowing machine you will need to do the following:

1) Complete the FM Workout of the Week AT LEAST once per week for 8 of the 10 weeks of challenges.
2) Upload the screenshot of your session to http://fmrowing.com/fm-open within the correct week.
3) Post your individual sessions (using the correct ‘#’ example #FMOpenW1) to the Concept 2 Indoor rowing Hub by Fitness Matters within the current week.

The FM Open will start on the 2nd of December 2017 and will run until the 9th of February 2018. The winner will be announced the week of the 12th of February.
Last initial entries can be no later than week 3 to ensure 8 weeks are completed.

For each completed and verified session you will receive one entry into the draw. The more times you complete the weekly challenge, the more entries you will receive into the prize draw. The minimum requirement is one completed session per week for 8 of the 10 weeks, gaining you 8 entries. The maximum entries allowed is one entry per day (uploaded and posted individually), gaining 70 entries.

Once the 10 weeks have been completed and entries accumulated and verified, a random number generator will be used to determine the lucky winner of a brand new Concept 2 rowing machine. This will be recorded live and posted to the Concept 2 Indoor rowing Hub by Fitness Matters. Second place will receive 6 months free coaching on our FM Indoor Rowing Plan. 3rd, 4th and 5th place will receive a goodie bag.

So if you fancy one of these prizes, get rowing as the more you row the greater the chance you have of winning. The competition is open to absolutely anybody, not just people in the Fitness Matters team.

The only real requirement (other than actually rowing the sessions!) is to have a Facebook account to be able to post to the Hub.

And it's about participation rather than being performance based. By all means go hard and go fast in order to compare yourself to your peers, that's always to be encouraged - but the fastest rower stands no more chance of winning that the slowest.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Good luck!

John

For a minute I thought you were going to encourage folks to row the full 42195 metres.

Hmmm. You've discovered a flaw in the name...

Don't tell anyone!
