Here is Team Diamonds choice for April's CTC:
The Baker's Dozen
13 x 1min reps with 1min rest/light rowing between each.
Like a loaf of bread, the best will rise and the rest will crumble.
Record your distance for the 13 mins. of rowing. No restrictions.
Just to clarify, is the light rowing compulsory or are drinks allowed?
It's stated as "rest/light rowing", so it's one or the other by your choice.
Also only distance meters for 13 active mins are to be recorded, so nobody can check your rest meters anyway.

Just want to clarify is it a rolling start for the 1st minute as well, or standing start for that one and then rolling starts for all the others if you want?

I asked myself a few times how you would get done a rolling start for the first rep at all?
Pull some hard strokes to get the flywheel spinning, then program the intervals very fast and then start pulling for the first rep?
I'm not even sure how fast you can rest the monitor for a new workout, when you accelerated the flywheel 🤔

Here's what the rules of the CTC say about that;

''All challenges must start initially from a stationary flywheel.''

So no.....the first minute can't be a rolling start.
66 year old, 72 kilo (159lbs), 5'8''/174cm (always the shortest on the podium!) male. Based just south of London.
Best rows as an over 60. One Hour.....16011 metres. 30 mins.....8215 metres. 100k 7hrs 14 mins.

In this case you would need to program it this way as part of the workout and it wouldn't match the asked workout. From my point of view such a programming would make that thing void.

Agreed. We've just got to accept that the first one will be tougher.

Yeah good point, usually the workouts says "standing start" but it's been clarified by someone else. Sounds like a fun one, but one that will be easy to blow up on.

Absolutely!
Recently one of the WOD was 12x 250m - 45s rest, bit shorter but similar. This was really hurting me that day 😅
Will be fun, looking forward to go for it 💪🏻

Fergus posted this on the facebook group:
"Hi everyone, hope you’re enjoying the new challenge this month. Got a of CTC updates to share.
With regard to scores- the system will now accept whatever your most recent entry is. So don’t worry if you post an incorrect score you can easily update it!
There’s now a ‘my profile’ tab (video coming tomorrow). This allows you to change weight/gender/team if you have made a mistake as well.
It will also display all of your previous efforts so you can easily keep track of them as wel as see who is in your team and your respective team captain.
A video explanation is coming tomorrow but you can have a play around in the meantime to familiarise yourselves. Enjoy!
Please share with your respective teams.
Any questions, as always just drop me an email
Best wishes, Fergus

Not to beat a dead horse, I just want to be 100% clear:

I also read "rest/light rowing", especially followed by "no restrictions", as either/or, rower's choice, but there's been debate among my team that it's meant to be read as " 'rest', specifically in this case light rowing".

Is either/or the final word on this?

You have the choice of resting completely or continuing to row during the rest intervals. You can exercise this choice after each work interval as you wish.

It seems like the transition to the Inside Indoor website has passed very smoothly with participation holding up during March.

Congratulations to Germania for finishing first on the leaderboard. We've had some close competitions in recent months but Germania were runaway winners last month.

Congratulations also to The Diamonds for maintaining their flotilla at 70 boats.
FIN ViPa and Centenary Rowers Australia were new teams last month. Welcome both! New teams may nominate a challenge if they produce boats on three consecutive months. This does not happen automatically. Team captains must contact me on either the facebook page or C2 forum; I need someone to liaise with.

Future Challengers:

May - Norwegian Vikings
June - Forum Flyers
July- The Diamonds
