National Records

Anyone know where I can find the records (nationally) for each distance?
I've been searching around and while Ireland and the UK both have a comprehensive list, there is nothing for
Canada / US
I hope that there are separate lists for US/CAN - purely for patriotic reasons
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much
Dana

Hi Dana,
If you're referring to erging records you can find them on the rankings page. You just need to filter by country. This dropdown is on the right hand side (ie: Country Code) beside Age range.

For on the water rowing I'm not sure if there's an official site but I'm sure a google search would quickly turn up something. ie: I just found out the canadian men's 8 broke the world record 2k on May 25

Hope that helps.

Selecting a country at the world record site will only show you world record holders from that country -- not that country's national records.
You can find USA records at
http://www.concept2.com/us/racing/recor ... ecords.asp, but there is not the equivalent for Canada.

I have the same quest WRT Australian Records. There is a list for 2000m, but not for 30mins or other categories. Using the world ranking page, you need to check every year, and it's not possible to know whether a listed time in a particular is a national record or not. Any clues appreciated.

Most besttimes are never ranked, so the rankihgs certainly won,t give an clear idea. Toprowers seldom rank there times.

I'm curious about that statement. Have comparisons been made between CRASH-B results and submitted times? Of course, Crash-B is for 2000m. If one does not self-submit for all other distances, then there is no central place for performances. I would think that top rowers would submit their times. If they don't, they can hardly be regarded as top rowers. They may be unknown, but not top.

The best results are set by otw rowers, those don't rank or row at crash B. Most rows are test rows and are kept hidden for the competition.
If I look over here in holland, almost never a sub 6 2k is entered in the rankings, at the dutch championships there are 2k rowed at sub 6, but even there most toprowers are not present. The same goes for Germany. There championship is in kettwig Essen, plenty of sub 6 rows, never in the rankings.
For other distances it is even worse.
Toprowers are far from unknown, for them the c2 is only a training tool, nothing more. The rankings don't mean nothing for them.
On the 2k over here I have been in the ranks in the top 5 sometimes, but at the nat. championships almost 100 people had a faster 2k.... non of them ranked.
I think in the age groups it may be a bit different, but even there we have a 20 min race and those 5/6 k like results again never het ranked.... And I have seen (old) olympian gold winners pull very ok ish results.
