When last heard from, the org committee thought either 2/12/12 or 2/19/12. Offhand I'd guess they'd prefer the later date (there are problems with satellite regattas when the main event's date comes early). But it probably depends on arena availability.

Wow! That is early in Feb.

I wonder when they will make a decision, is there a chimney we can watch for white smoke?

You can watch http://crash-b.org/

BTW, every time you start a new thread to tempt Ranger out of his box I'll be merging it with his long running training thread. Please keep the "Rangerbaiting" in one place.

It's Boston, not Rome. Look for lanterns hung from churches.

"CRASH-B World Indoor Rowing Championships Dear 1,253 Likers - We'll be announcing our exact Feb '12 date at Agganis Arena at the end of August, so please be patient until then. It's gorgeous outside...get on the water and stop worrying about your 2K test on the Concept2 Rowing erg. There will be plenty of time for that this winter..."

Why can't they explain why they can't tell us the date? I'm sure there must be a very good explanation, so why not tell us instead of telling us to get on the water..... :?

At least they give us the month and the arena. It sure as hell beats BIRC this season.

Probably because the university (aka the venue) does not have it's schedule set yet. There are college athletic events held there, and my guess is that schedules haven't been released. Therefore BU can't commit.

Ah, ok thanks.
And what excuse does BIRC have at this time? Or should we wait for their white smoke signals?

I've no idea. You will have to ask BIRC directly.

I think that the contract to use the NIA ran out last year and they are having trouble finding another one.

C2UK are planning to do BIRC in Spring 2012. They've not yet announced the date or the venue - I'm expecting that next week. They're working to avoid Basingstoke 2012, the 2500m, 300m and 100m will be on 14th April 2012 (not yet booked, as I don't start doing anything for that until after I'm done with the cycling TT I organise in the middle of September).
