2k for university

hi im 16 going into grade 11 next year im 5'10 and 170 pounds and my 2k is 6:38 am i on track to get a scholarships at a decent school? My coach said that all d1 universities only care about how fast your erg is.

I knew a couple rowers in school with partial scholarships, and both did a 2k in the 6:20 range in high school. Both received partial scholarships (they said the school only gave a couple full scholarships per year - I'm sure others are different).

From those I've spoken with, scholarships are much harder to get for men then women (due to Title IX). You still have a year to get stronger and get your times down though, so I'd say you're on the right track.
