The power of positive splitting

Post by Bob S. » November 18th, 2015, 12:07 am

This is the scheme for the 4F race plan for a 2k (500m splits):

1st split: Flying = 2k - 2.
2nd split: Flagging = 2k, but starting to climb.
3rd split: Flailing = 2k + 3 or more.
4th split: Flopping = choice of paddling through the pain to the end or DNF.

2k + 2.8"
There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

My best results have a dispersion even greater than this.

Blast off in the first 500m at PR 500m pace + ~5 secs.

2nd 500m ~5 secs slower than first 500m.

2nd 1000m ~10 secs slower than first 1000m.

Final 250m: hold on for dear life!
