The Newton Wellesley Hospital is sponsoring the 5th annual Boston ERG Marathon This event will be held on Patriots day, April 19 at about mile 17 of the other marathon run in Boston on that day. Participants row on ERGs set up along side the race course. Individuals rowing the full marathon or teams rowing in relay are welcome. As in past years, this event supports the Newton Wellesely Hospital Breast Center and our familial breast cancer research program. Participants can be sponsored for the row. As in prior we will be asking a minimum of $100 per entrant.
Last year the Rowers covered over 34 marathons, or over 1 MILLION meters.
This year we would like to double this amount.
Schools and rowing clubs are welcome.
Rowers are welcome to bring their own ergs, or row on machines we supply.
Interested parties should contact Fred Millham (fmillham@partners.org)
Help us line Route 16 with rowers this year and support breast cancer research!

5th Annual Boston ERG Marathon - Race Report
Dr. Fred M. and the Newton Wellesley Hospital put on a great event yesterday right on the Boston Marathon course to raise some money for Breast Cancer Research. Fred recruited over 50 rowers and we all had front row seats to the other Boston Marathon! The wheelchairs came through first (I was at about 20k), then the women (they looked unbelievably fast), and finally the men (a strong pack that looked destined for a dogfight).
Great cookout after the event. Photos below.
Big thanks to all those that made this possible. Already looking forward to next year!

The ergs just waiting to unleash their pain.
The Boston Marathon measured in meters...
A happy gang waiting for the starting gun.
