Good luck to all of you competing tomorrow !

I've had a look on the British Rowing website and can't see anything for watching racing live, anyone know if they're doing it live like they did the Scottish the other week ?

Thanks everyone for the best wishes.

Mine is done and dusted. First race of the day which set off on time thankfully.

Word of warning to those competing, once connected to the lobby you get assigned a lane, it then says OK to warm up. BUT, as a person joins who has put down a quicker predicted time than you, your display goes off whilst you get assigned a new lane. The clock then gets reset and says OK to warm up again. This completely put off my neatly timed Warm Up as I got bumped down 6x and hence display went off and clock reset 6x

It was a horrible effort. Decided on drag 120 but this felt heavy after 1k. I nailed the start so was pleased with that but after 500m had a dry throat and it was going south already! Any thoughts of 7:15 were out the window. It was more of hanging on and trying to get inside 7:20. Not having projected time was a first for me as I use this the most, so just going on average. I almost was going to paddle home at one point, but knew people were watching so stuck to it.
Somehow I managed to scrape a new PB by 0.8s! Not sure how that happened

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
7:16.8 2,000m 1:49.2 269 1225 27
1:48.9 500m 1:48.9 271 1232 27
1:50.3 1,000m 1:50.3 261 1197 27

1:46.6 2,000m 1:46.6 289 1294 30

Official results aren't out yet and the 2nd heat was all the quick boys... David Dix won in 6:16!
But hadn't trained for it, wasn't last, and set a new PB so will gloss over the race itself and take that as a win :D

Best of luck to everyone else racing this weekend.

Pleased with my PB in the 55-59 group. 6:37.7 to finish 3rd overall behind two Scandinavians. Was trying to hold the split at just under 1:40. Race monitor didn’t seem to be working - showing 6000 metres difference between competitors!
Looked close so 300 to go I put my head down and went for it.
Anyone know if there is somewhere to watch a rerun of races. The live stream only showed the last 250m of my race.

That's a cracking result for your first race and a race full stop. It's not easy and there's lots that can go wrong.

Wow, Tony. PBing is a very tough ask in a race, but actually competing for a places manages to focus your attention. Really strong result mate

This is probably a fair result, but I didn't fall off the erg so maybe I should have been braver in the last 500m, not least as I could have edged under 6:37

I don't respond very well to race conditions, so I'm happy enough with this

Things went a bit better this time. A 7s improvement from the Scottish, and managed a sub-7 in the Lwt M40 2k. Positive splits, but it all counts in the end with 6:59.4! 9th place!

Still 3s off my PB, but I'm not complaining this time. ;)
