Thanks Dougie that will be a big help plus changing it back to the monthly challenge around midday on the 15th (like the usual monthly change over) will enable all the US and Canadian folk to get their scores on as there are a lot of our members there with different time zones from coast to coast 👍
It doesn't work like that. The rules are midnight on 14th to midnight on 15th.
OK understood, I didn't know that but now that I do I'll make sure my lot do for next time.
67 year old, 72 kilo (159lbs), 5'8''/174cm (always the shortest on the podium!) male. Based just south of London.
Best rows as an over 60. One Hour.....16011 metres. 30 mins.....8215 metres. 100k 7hrs 14 mins.

.

Here's what The Diamonds (Over Sixties Erging Group) have chosen for the March CTC;

The Super Sixties Six with 60.

Six reps of 1k with one minute rests.

No restrictions other than the usual starting the first one from a stationary Flywheel.

Enter your time for the 6k total of the reps.

Nice and simple to program, not too hard a pace and good training for the longer distance time trials and races that usually follow the 2k racing season so hopefully it will get a good turn out for all teams.

Hi, I'm new here. Do I need to post something before I can send a private message to someone? My team mate has a problem with adding a result to c2ctc and I'd rather explain the situation in a private message.

AkiK - you will need to send the message to Dougie whos user name on the forum is "Citroen". You have already done your first post, but as long as you are logged into the forum I think you will be able to send a private mesage.

You can send a private message to anyone anytime.

You need to send one to Citroen if you want help with the CTC, here he is,

Hi there,
I noticed that our team "RowAlong" currently has the unfortunate situation that we only get 1 out of 5 boats complete due to a lack of lightweight rowers. I would therefore like to propose a rule change so that the 4th seat can be filled either by a LW man or by a woman without LW requirement - alternatively with any person who fulfils the LW requirement for men. Performance-wise, it should not be unfair if the LW-man seat is filled by a woman. The advantage would be that many more boats would be launched. What do you think?

We're not going to change the LW rule, sorry. It's worked this way since December 2005.

The LW rower can be male or female - there are no restrictions on them. So a boat with two ladies (one LW) and three fellas (HWT) will float. A boat with one lady (HWT) one LW male and three HWT fellas will float.

Thank you for the explanations. Tradition is important, of course. But beyond that, I see considerable advantages to my proposal:
- currently, in seat 4, women up to 61.5kg have to compete against men up to 75.0kg - which seems a bit unfair
- the change would be very simple; just raise the LW limit for women to 75kg. No programme adjustments are needed.
- more boats will float
Or am I missing something?

The software that runs http://c2ctc.com is functionally stabilised. It's not going to change.

Fortunately, no software changes would be necessary. Only some rowers could update their category from F HWT to F LWT.

The rules for LWT are men at 75kg and women at 61.5kg. That's not going to change either.

I know the rules, hence my suggestion for improvement.
Well, it doesn't seem to be welcome.
No offence and thanks for running the ctc. :)

Yet, for the purposes of thr CTC - so as to not arbitrarily demand that women are a 13+kg lighter than their male counterparts - it could change quite simply.

Seems like something that would warrant a vote, no?

As a 73 kg female, I don't want to compete against lightweight women in competition, but have wondered the same thing about the CTC lightweight slot on the boat - if a 73 kg male can take that slot, why can't I? How big is the programming lift?
