Henry, it was a brilliant race. This young girl was absolutely amazing to watch. It was an unbelievable time and deserved the standing ovation and recognition she received for such an outstanding effort.hjs wrote:Ehhhhh. 6.30.2 17 year old greek girl, everybody stands in the shade of that.

Yes, seeing the clip eas already great, she even had some left. Certainly worth a standing ovation. At that age so fast, she is very talented and already well trained. The best 2 I have heard of this season. Simply great !!rowmyboat wrote:Henry, it was a brilliant race. This young girl was absolutely amazing to watch. Overall, 11.5 Watts per stroke at about 33 SPM. That is powerful rowing. Ann Bourlioux, the winner at 50-54, did, I believe, around 9.1 W/stroke and she is known as a power rower.rowmyboat wrote:Ehhhhh. 6.30.2 17 year old greek girl, everybody stands in the shade of that.

Not surprised to see that. She looked so 'elegant' to watch which was quite deceiving. It was announced that she participated (and was competitive) in many sports including OTW, swimming and I'm sure tennis was mentioned too. The complete package - will be interesting to follow her beyond the rest of her 'teenage' years.Cyclingman1 wrote:

Check the audio again- she didn't go to 33 until the last 500. Most of the race she was at 30.....C2JonWOverall, 11.5 Watts per stroke at about 33 SPM. That is powerful rowing. Ann Bourlioux, the winner at 50-54, did, I believe, around 9.1 W/stroke and she is known as a power rower.

Here's Anne's data: http://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/r ... urlioux/21
So her 500m splits were at 9.1, 9.1, 9.3 and 9.2 W/spm.

Re: Crash-B Observations/Impressions from afar
I averaged her 500m SPM's and got 32.5 for an average. Her avg power was 377 W. W/s = 377/32.5 = 11.6.c2jonw wrote:Check the audio again- she didn't go to 33 until the last 500. Most of the race she was at 30.
Anne's avg SPM was 30.75. Avg watts = 281. W/s = 281/30.75 = 9.1.
Paul Guest had an outstanding row at age 75. Avg watts = 276. Avg SPM = 29.25. W/s = 276/29.25 = 9.4. Hard to have that power for 2K at age 75.

Life long OTW as Jim has observed with others and was a very eminent Judge and Jurist in industrial law in Aus.
He came to racing OTE later and went sub7 WR and Hammer when he turned 70. Then has waited til 75+ to do it again! (I believe his time is WR as well)
