Also, a sub 40 minute 10k is extremelly easy to achieve and this also seems highly unlikely that your gym is offering this competition as it would go bankrupt very quickly.
I would guess that you are a liar?
Great, now I'm going to bed, knowing that I can't even break an easy score of 40 minutes for a 10K. And then some guy smashes the world record the first time he ever sits down on a rowing machine. I think I'm gonna go kill myself.

come on lads , is it really necessary for the personal attacks ok the machine could be totally wrong and i cant row at all but im just giving you the fugures that were on the screen so i find some of the responses a bit over the top.
the you tube video looked achieveable because i was expecting them to be really flying i was easily matching or bettering there speed just not sure what setting they had it on.

It has Nothing to do with how fast you go up and down the rail or what setting you have on. Nothing at all to do with the result.
It is to do with the power you are putting into every stroke. Through your powerful leg drive and powerful pull.
I don't know why you are wasting peoples time on this?
You should be contacting the Irish rowing association as you have a real chance to win a gold medal at this years olympics.

I will just finish my conversation with you by saying congratulations for becoming the greatest ever rower, the fastest human being ever, to sit on an erg in the history of this sport.
You are a true legend and a phenomenal athlete.

I promise to give you my house, my car and everything I own if you can do what you are saying in front of a reputable witness. (somebody I trust from the forum)
On the water is a different sport to Indoor rowing so does not need consideration.
The people on this forum compete in indoor rowing, a sport in its own right. You are the fastest ever person to take part based on your report.
How old are you?
How tall are you?
How heavy are you?

eoinom wrote:man i don't believe i'd set a new record either but i was doing a lot of pulling trying to work my biceps they were well sore after but i'm only going by what machine said and i then googled it to see what times people do in 10,000m, believe me i am ignornant to the sport and was expecting times like 10mins better than mine.
I am 26, 6ft and 71kg . I cycle mostly but ran the marathon last year for the first time in october in 3hr 56 , you can check it here
http://adidasdublinmarathon.ie/results.php race no . 9835,
i do 50 press ups every morning and cycle in and out of work everyday thats 22mile round trip from swords to dublin city centre. thats just a background of my fitness.
So you don't do much training, you are a slower than average distance runner and you where training your biceps on a rower!
Says it all that........

yes well i've never claimed to be a professional im just giving you the facts, i know im well slower than the average runner and never stated otherwise, but i have great stamina and that was probably the key . im just looking at your time of 37 mins for 10000 that says alot as well.

The difference is, I don't claim anything about my performances.
I only train about as much as you so that is why I am slow on the erg.
You will not be faster than 36:30.0 minutes over 10k -You probably did a 38 and reported it as 28!

no chance mate it was 28mins, im sure of that because the gym instructor said i was near 10 mins faster than the next best time of 37mins.
listen your 26 , 5ft 10 and 86kg, im not been personal here but there not that impressive stats even with 16% body fat your still too heavy if you could do it in 36 mins i'm pretty sure i'd beat that infact i'd put my house on it.

my point is your saying i wouldn't beat your time when your carrying 15kg more than me and your 2inchs shorter , if you can do it in 36 mins surely i would knock alot of time off that seen as your so much heavier , that is my point.
