They're still working on revisions and a race schedule.
Yeah I can see now, they've got you down as a lightweight :shock: which AFAIK you could be but with some of the times you've been posting I very much doubt :lol:

Piers I'm not competing this year - but wanted to wish you (and obviously everyone else racing) all the best for a successful and enjoyable day!

Thanks Rohan, much appreciated. Hopefully I can get closer to my PB than I did last year.

I broke up a 2k in preparation for Saturdays British Championships;

1500.................1:44.5 pace 38 spm
3':30 rest

250..................rolling start, 1:41.6 pace 39 spm
30 seconds rest

250.................rolling start, 1:38.8 pace 40 spm

Total time........... 6:53.8
Average pace........1:43.4
39 spm

I weighed in at 73.5 kilos/162lbs and my birth certificate shows I'm 60 so no last minute worries there but I sure am looking forward to a big tub of Ice Cream after the race!

I think that tells me I've got the potential to go a wee bit faster then the 6:59.5 I did 2 weeks ago......just got to go out and do it now!

I'll be glad when it's over though as 2k is not my best distance! I'll be getting stuck into some longer stuff next week with a series of Half Marathons, 10k's, 30 minute and 60 minute pieces until it's time for more bloody 2k pain when I have to get ready for the world championships in Virginia on the 18th of February...and I really will be ready for a rest by then!
67 year old, 72 kilo (159lbs), 5'8''/174cm (always the shortest on the podium!) male. Based just south of London.
Best rows as an over 60. One Hour.....16011 metres. 30 mins.....8215 metres. 100k 7hrs 14 mins.
