Comment:
Each athlete is given 10 consecutive years in which to score as many points as possible. The highest possible score is, of course, 50.
At least one of those consecutive years must be in a 50’s age group.

PM me if you want to see the complete chart. Include your email address so I can send you the WORD file.

Files on line are limited to the years 1995-2010 (last 16 years)

to all readers: PM me if you want to see the complete chart. Include your email address so I can send you the WORD file that has all the point winners.

I had a theory that such a C-B based survey would have a New England bias, i.e. that the closer one lived to Boston, the more likely one would place high, but the two first place guys sort of blew that theory out of the water. The same would be true for the women, since two of the top performers are from SoCal and England, i.e. Joan and Ann. (That's a guess - I didn't check the records.)

another quick check shows that she did not compete in the couple of years prior to that.
This still puts her on top.

Jim Castellan is admirable in that he had to compete against many more competitors than the lwts.

I wonder who has rowed in the most Crash-B and placed in the top three.

Any guesses?
Will someone else do the "intelligent" searches for me please?? :D

I would guess: Mary Perrot or maybe Carrie Graves.
I bet Nav' Hazard knows already.

Howard Schmuck? ... may have been in the most though w/o lots of awards....

Has to be Carie, who was present at the creation in 1982. She'd already won eight times outright as of 1997. Bear in mind that there were 10-year age categories for 40+ in the old days. This made it orders of magnitude harder to keep winning as people aged up....

For sustained excellence at the very top no one comes close to Siejkowki's 7 Open wins in a 13-year span (1992-2001).

Carrie still comes, rows, wins!
All in all I'd say the women are more durable competitors.

The one I liked to watch the most was Rob Waddell. He erged like he was out for a paddle, even when he set his WR the first time....
If New Zealand had been closer geographically I bet he'd have had more wins in Boston...
