You probably also think a 7:10 is close enough to be a 5:46, no reason to verify it afterwards.

Fortunately some people see things as they are.

But I am pretty sure that you are not one of them. If you drive to the top of Pike's Peak and set a new WR rowing on slides, I will be happy to congratulate you on your achievement.

That is very funny, Michael.

So Pike's peak and getting a WR on slides, putting 5:46 when you've only done 7:10, and calling 180 pounds "good enough" to be lightweight is your perception of reality.

What a great response -- you sure showed me!

This would be best. in other compareble sports there are also no weightclasses. running, swimming, cycling. Lightweight are symply not 100% suited for rowing. They lack size.
Are you saying that lightweights simply should not row?

No no. But just in one open categorie. Just as in running, cycling, swimming etc.
If this means that you cannot compete agains beter suited people, in this case bigger people, just accept it in the same way as big cyclist has to accept he can never win the tour the france, and that a big runner never can win the olympic marathon.

Maybe they should have all runners "adjusted", the way it is with rowing on an erg.

I.e. make sure all runners are carrying 250 pounds of weight on their backs.

Yeah I know that would be ridiculous wouldn't it.
