Hi Mike/allMPx wrote: ↑February 26th, 2024, 1:18 pmWell done indeed Glenn. I was watching the stream of your race but didn't catch you (a low numbered erg wasn't it?). Anyway your hard work has paid off with a 1.2s PB. Would suggest you repeat in the very near future with a verified workout at home as without the race start I'm sure you'll be sub 1:30.
thanks for the kind words.
I was on erg 11, apparently when they started filming my family saw me, but when the race started they focussed on others for some reason!!!

Anyway, my coach has suggested the same. For this event i started specific training in Jan and had around 6 weeks training plus an initial week of assessment/review of my stroke, and a week or so taper.
During the training my performance was improving so i have in mind to continued for a bit and then have a go at home.
I was pretty disappointed not to have broken 1:30, but as my coach pointed out, if you look at the difference between the power developed for fastest times of those competing at 60, and a 45 year old , typically they develop about 40% less power, so on balance im not that unhappy now.
Still want to go faster though!
