As readers surely know I was quite unsuccessful in my attempt to convince World Rowing to add age group categories beyond 70 and up. But US Rowing has just announced that my recommendation of a rule change to add five year categories up to age 100 beyond their present 85 and up was accepted. (See the US Rowing webpage.) I plan to erg at the CRASH-Bs in March in 90-94 lightweight; my training is going satisfactorily--see recent additions in Concept 2's Ranking. I appreciate the support I received from fellow ergers.

Thats encouraging (and arguably sensible).

Maybe we should all try harder with World Rowing
Age 61, on 2/01/22 I rowed 115,972m 11hrs 17m 57s and raised £19k for https://www.havenshospices.org.uk/ Thanks for all the support

Glenn,
I agree that it is worth trying again with World Rowing. The three large regattas held in early 2023 in The States are on board.
I plan to try again with World Rowing soon after their regatta in Canada is over in late February.
In the meantime, I will check to see if World Rowing--like US Rowing --has a fixed procedure for recommending rule changes.

Once I've done my thing at the CRASH-Bs in early March I will place a draft of what I have in mind sending World Rowing in this Forum, and, of course, I will appreciate suggestions for improvement.
