Re: US Lightweight Indoor Rowing National Championships
This looks like a great event. Is this a one off event or do you hope to hold it again in the future?

Re: US Lightweight Indoor Rowing National Championships
It all depends how this one goes and what happens afterward. If people sign up and it's a successful event, I'll be happy to hold it again. I hope that it will attract a lot of competitors and other organizations will see that and include lightweights in more regattas. (If it's not successful, that will be a bummer.)
I see this as more than just a competition. Signing up is participating in a cause and a statement that its important to support lightweight rowers as part of our sport.
I know rowers like to wait until the last minute to sign up for things, but it would send a signal and be helpful if people sign up for this event early. I think if others see significant sign-ups that will build momentum. So, sign up today!

Re: US Lightweight Indoor Rowing National Championships
Is it only Crash B that have stopped LWT or is it more common and spreading?

Re: US Lightweight Indoor Rowing National Championships
It would be more accurate to say "USRowing has stopped offering lightweight events." This year, CRASH-Bs is also the USRowing Indoor National Championships. No USRowing-hosted event has had lightweights since the start of the pandemic. Other US regattas have had lightweights (Head of the Schuylkill, Head of the Fish, Head of the Charles). The FISA World Rowing Indoor Championships (and all the continental qualifiers, including the British and Canadian Indoor Championships) have lightweight events. The Scottish and Australian Indoor Championships had lightweight events.
USRowing is the clear outlier in abandoning the weight class.
