Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Sounds reasonable to me, even though we're one of the teams above them in the queue (Forum Flyers).

Hi Dougie.
Kris Jane from the Diamonds is having trouble entering her result. I think it may be a password issue.

No objection really but COVID-19 may spoil a lot of parades by July so suggest OMR think ahead about the tie-in to the summer Olympics.joe80 wrote: ↑February 25th, 2020, 6:05 amI received this request for an early challenge:
"Could I please request the JULY CTC challenge for #TeamTokyRow?
As you may recall, I am doing "TokyRow" from my house to Japan in time for the Olympics and getting (50) people to take part in the CTC and other challenges was part of my goal. As it wraps up on 24th July it would be great if we could have the last month to say "goodbye"
If that's okay (assuming we hit the eligibility targets - and we have not missed a month yet since we started) could you let me know so I can start to talk to people about what sort of challenge we should do.
Many thanks
Peter AKA ObeseManRowing"
It seems reasonable: the team are near the top of the waiting list as it stands. If there are any objections, please let me know during the coming week.
Regards,
Joe

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
February was a very successful month for the MAD team. They took first and third positions with a further crew in the top ten. Congratulations!
It was also a good month for Sub7 with second position and fifteen boats launched.
Free Spirits have the challenge for June and, as there have been no objections posted, #TokyRow are awarded the July event.
Next month, Independents have the challenge. In previous rounds, individuals have taken the initiative to organise this event. I hope the same can be arranged so that a session is revealed by March 25.

Joe

Current ctc... sorry for being really thick but Is that 4 x4 minutes rest, or 4 minutes in total spread across the whole session?

It's 4min row, 4min rest, 4min row, 4min rest, 4min row, 4min rest, 4min row - finish. So, 3x 4min rest

Great, thanks!
Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Just three days left for the Independents to come up with a session. Otherwise it'll be Dougie's default 2km ...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
I think we should furlough the CTC (put up a holding page) for the duration or leave the March CTC running.
I don't, particularly, care as I can't enter a result (I don't have an ergo) and my gym is shut for the duration and I can't see Covid19 being over before the end of April (I'd guess at September right now - because it's not over until there's a reliable vaccine). I nearly lost my record of rowing every one this month.

Agree.
This absolutely needs to change over to a new challenge on April 1st. Keeping it stuck on March indefinitely is ridiculous.

OK so right now it's a straight 2K. No bells, no whistles, no restrictions. Just row 2K and record a result.CaseyClarke wrote: ↑March 28th, 2020, 5:20 pmAgree.

I won't be joining in. So my 185 CTCs is where my record ends.
