Row Series II - Entries Open

Post by Recess » September 11th, 2017, 4:21 am

Hi everyone,

I didn't spot much chatter about the event earlier in the year when it took place, so thought I'd post something here about the entries opening for the next series. If you don't know about it, it's a 4 event race - 1 a week - with a lean towards the cross-fit programming (and more random CTC events). So rather than a straight 2500m - they'd make the first 500m worth points as well as the first distance.

Frustratingly for me, they've raised the LWT weight to 80Kg to even up the categories - but it'll hopefully end up as a lot more competitive because of that. Yes there's an entry fee - but there's also prize money at the end of it.

Anyway, just thought I'd post something here about it.

I just finished my last organized cycling event for the year, so now will focus on indoor rowing for the coming winter. This is another competitive thing that I need to provide as much motivation as possible to keep working hard. Thanks for posting it! I like your indoorrowinginfo site, too. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about it before.

I'll sign up. Any of you regular forumites up for a little friendly side competition? We can use this thread or start a dedicated one.

How did you get on with the Row Series II ?

I had to go on holiday when it started (woe is me!) so missed out this time round. Looked like a good set of workouts!!!

And thanks for the kind words about my website. Not that many people know about it. I'm trying to do my best to spread word, but you know what the internet's like!

I tried to sign up but for some reason, it wouldn't go through; entered all my data, then credit card info, hit "enter", poof, nothing. This happened to me on another of these type of web sites, Rowd Royalty. Don't have a clue why the sites don't finish the process. My card is good at Amazon and other sites.

So to answer your question, I didn't do it. Probably will just pass on this type of deal in the future.

It could be a browser issue? My RBS account plays silly buggers if I don't use Chrome. Seems to have something to do with the verification pop-up that they have.

Next time something like this happens, get in touch with them - there's always a chance there's a flaw in their website coding, and others are suffering too!

Although, looking at the sessions they were posting, you probably dodged some real nasty workouts!

One more reason to switch your account from the Royal Bank of Stupid to any other bank.
