Dean, WR Sprints couid have--but didn't--implement the higher standard of mandatory verification based on entries to the C2 log while C2 continued to offer aid and comfort to their customers who can't be bothered. World Rowing is nominally the governing body of a new sport but looks more and more like a puppy dog tail that C2 wags.

Dear All:

I have sent a detailed email to several Concept addresses dissecting the current First Place Holder's time in the Men's 60-69 Age Group. Among the anomalies: 3:08.0 (I think the terminal zero often indicates a pace submission, except for 10%);time is 8 seconds off the world record and 5 seconds faster than Chris Cooper, the WR holder in the 2000m 65-69 AG. Further, his only online submission was a 4:50 1000m rowed Friday until his 3:08.0. He has lifetime meters of 32,000 and is 67 years old,5'6",214 pounds. Is this enough to get Concept to review the submission?
I am guessing he submitted his pace time by error, cannot believe somebody would deliberately cheat, or hope they wouldn't anyway.
Anything else to do?

Thanks all

Ted

Honestly ?
I don't think they care that much to change a result.
It's always been an honesty thing. If you want to entries it's always been possible.

I've logged a 1000m today for the March sprint challenge.

Uploaded it off the card through the PC and it appears in my log and on the normal 1000m ranking but not on the March 10-12 page

Is there something else I need to do? Logged it a few hours ago and the page is updating for others but my score doesn't appear

Very confused !
Dave, did you get this sorted and if so how?
Something similar has happened to my club-mate Brian Cort who would otherwise be third in the 80-89 men's heavyweight category with a 4:01.2 and we'd like to get it sorted.

Talking of odd results, seems we have a 117 year old American woman named Dennis Boyle with a 4:13.5 leading the 80+ women's category.

I assume you are talking about Damien Roohr. His time is unverified........
The current second place, Dietmar Kuttelwascher, also beats the WR.
I have just dropped Damien a line to tell him
Log error updated earlier. Was manual log input; erroneously added my pace rather than my time, which was, um, yea 5:00+ - a leisurely cd. Had no idea a challenge was under way.

Jim, Ed thanks for the kind words. Lindsay, thanks for the thought (did not receive msg, but have had trouble logging in here lately)

What if they held a race and nobody cared? The WR Sprints scraper-ithm doesn't read minds--an additional glitch in the "competition" model.

To their credit Concept (or whoever ran the 1,000m Challenge) did bounce the clearly erroneous times that led the Men's 60-69 AG at various times over the weekend. Does anybody know how they decide if a time is not valid?

For the record: it seems that you can have your privacy setting set to not show your results on any Honour Boards i.e. Challenges. Brian's has now been changed to show his result.

Ya gotta log in, assuming you set up a log in "account". From there; your home page , lower right, click on "challenges" and assuming you have ranked a time , upper left. Click, print, and go impress the neighbors. Or not.

Yep, it was a privacy setting that was blocking me.

Interesting though that the time on the machine showed 3:07.9 but when the data card uploaded it was 3:08.0

Not overly concerned, just odd!
