This is truly inspiring! I am curious, how long have you been rowing, if I may ask?

I started rowing in 1932, at age 7 or 8 in heavy skiffs. I took up sweep rowig in 8s when I started at Cal, Berkeley, in the Fall of '42, but went into the service before the racing season started in the Spring of '43. I returned to the university in the Spring of '46, in time to participate that season and was a 4 year letterman. I was away from rowing for 40 years after I finished there and got back into it again after retirement.
