2k based on workouts(pacing question)
I was wondering how a 10x500m on 1' rest and 10k related to 2k (same SR). This is for a pretty aerobic person. I have heard it is around 10x500 will be .5-1 slower than the 2k, but I wanted to verify this (need to decide on pacing). I can do 1.33.0 for the 10x500 and 1.42 splits for a 10k. Thanks for the help!

Sounds about right, 133 34 could be your cruising pace, with a bit extra both at the start and finish.

So you think 6.10 is a reasonable goal?

Re: 2k based on workouts(pacing question)
Based on some sessions to exactly predict a 2k is impossible. The best predictor is often 4x1k on 5 rest. This is around 2k plus 1. Best is not to worry to much, people tend to make the 2k to heavy. Just do them to make it a more normal sesh.The_Giant0 wrote:So you think 6.10 is a reasonable goal?
Re: 2k based on workouts(pacing question)
Surely at your level, training paces are based on 2k target, not the other way round. What is your target? Using the Interactive percentages it looks as though your last 2k was 6:10, so the next will be 6:05 ?

I haven't 2ked in a while. just did the pieces as hard as I could (have done them multiple times so I know the range I should pull in for each workout)
