Hi Minna,
I used the link and read your first post. What you are doing is incredible. I admire your determination and efforts to try new endeavors. I think your erg times are great, especially for only having rowed for a short time. I am a 62 year old woman and at first I felt intimidated by the super fast times of others but after thinking about it and by reading the forum, I realized we are all doing very well just to get on the erg several times a week and do our best.
It helps to keep the personal log on the C2 site so you can see your progress. The forum isn't as active these days as it was six months ago but it may be just because it is summer and people have other things to do. However, if you have any questions, just post them and I'm sure someone will be there to help. The women's forum especially is a great place for encouragement and advice.
If you would like any more motivation, you can always join one of the virtual rowing teams. You post your distance, and not your times, so the meters you row are added to the team total. Every team loves to have more meters! I am on the Ducks in a Row which is a team of just women and if you are interested, we would love to have you join although you are certainly free to join any team you like.
Keep up the good work and good luck with your road racing.
Carol

hello again,
posted some more in that original thread (re: painful shoulder,
which was the original cause of why switched to rowing as cross training for road racing from the handcycle hoping it will help).
I do not think it is the rowing,
I think it is from the roadwork I have been doing,
getting ready for a 'stepping stone' 5 km race in 15 days....
on route to the half marathon that registered for on Oct 1st.
Found the online logging,
signed up.
I think we need more adapted rowers, because my name comes up
2nd in the 1000m distance,
and 1st in the 5000m distance
(heavy weight, 40 yr old, class LTA )...

Ducks in a row! it is then.
that sounds good to me,
having never been invited to a rowing team, virtual or otherwise
thank you.....
I joined.
